new song at Part Time Songs

Life changes, fast sometimes. Brilliant ideas fail, progress is lost, chaos and stability fight each other, with chaos coming out slightly ahead. Careful planning for the unknown might help. If it doesn't help, at least it keeps us busy, thinking, occupied awaiting the next change.

new song at Part Time Songs

I was playing around with a free VST synth and came up with the bassline for this one first, and built everything else around that. The lyrics came really easily after that. It's a short one but I like it. At first my idea was to have a few different song snippets with the theme of the sky, but I've just got this one right now.

As an aside, I'm turning 30 next weekend and I think it'd be cool if the Facebook Part Time Songs page could reach 30 fans by then. We're already up at 27, so if you're on Facebook and haven't "fanned" me, feel free to do so!

Someone want to buy my E-MU protools interface?
someone want to buy my E-MU protools interface?
I have been kicked out of my place and need to sell my music gear.

I want to sell it, and I want to sell it cheap/fast.

http://www.emu.com/products/product.asp?product=9871 <-- check it out

"The E-MU® 1820M is the flagship of E-MU's line of Digital Audio Systems, delivering everything you need to produce audio on a PC with professional results- 24-bit/192kHz converters (the same A/D converters used in Digidesign®'s ProTools® HD 192 I/O interface), hardware-accelerated effects and mixing, comprehensive sync options and seamless compatibility with your favorite PC audio/sequencer software. No other audio solution available offers the performance, flexibility and value of the E-MU 1820M"

One of this leviathans of music making power is being sold by me. I intended to stick it into my home studio, but Im going to move to Japan anyway so that makes that pointless. (aka I havent even plugged it in yet)

Read any review of this hardware, its simply the best you can get.
Example review (first result on google):

from http://www.samplecraze.com/reviews.php?xReviewID=3 :

"Conclusion- I believe every once in a while a product comes along that sets the level and invites the competition to take note. For me the 1820M is that product. Sure, it has it’s little niggles. It’s small (half U) and cannot be housed in a single rack...BUT this card is amazing! In terms of sonic capabilities, interface and management, delivery and presentation of audio, masses of routings options and configurations and all the sync options, this card can only be a winner. Throw in the price that is being asked for the 1820M and the daughter board and we now have a new level of competition.
Buy it!
Eddie Bazil (Zukan)"

Ok for those who are completely lost, this is like...a sound card. but with sweet plug interface and god-like power over music, noise and sound. Do you know anyone who wants to make a home studio or make tunes on their computer? Tell them about this deal

"The Creative Professional E-MU 1820M has a recommended retail price of AU$1199..."

BOLLOCKS TO THAT! I'm selling mine for six hundred dollars Australian, which is about $400 US...
I will post anywhere if people are wondering
email me on edward_fricker at the hot mail dot com if you want my phone number or if youre interested in buying mr E-MU

new song at Part Time Songs

An instrumental I’ve had running through my head for days that I had to get out. Photo courtesy of my wife. Tonight, I feel like it evokes thoughts of Obama’s inauguration. Perhaps because it’s tomorrow.

The Hostel - Movement
A weird and very optimistic russian rock-group The Hostel has published a new single «Movement». It is dedicated to war. War is a content of the life – that’s the point. These three songs were written mostly in 2007, but the idea of putting them together in Internet-single came in the days of war in Osetia.

In the single you’ll find the influences of psycho-folk and garage music, of post-rock and the new weird America. Three songs, 8 minutes of sound, that express greatly the tragic and destructive sense of our today world. The faith in God, the hope of something salvational in future.

Kimberly Beach is a fresh music blog/LJ community which features music recommendations, downloads and more thereto.

Every week I offer the following updates:
Weekly Mishmash: Self-explanatory. Within this serenading package lies a mix with 5-10 songs found particularly special and which I recommend to you. Download one, download them all -- I can more or less promise you that you'll find a new favourite among each weekly 'mash.
Topic posts: Songs that goes under a topic. Any ranges such as Happy!, Romance, Angst, Covers, Live... come suggest some.
Soundtrack: Some soundtrack compilations stand out more than others. Posted every other week.
1 Rec: Simply a song that's stuck out in the melody of life recently.

I also take requests, or help you find that one song you just can't find. Maybe you're looking for a song for a fandom, or for a video you're making... I'll help out as best as I can. Also, by helping people find songs they are looking for, I find myself finding new favourites as well. So it works both ways.

If you want to snatch melodious melodies, leave a comment or just take a peek -- feel free to do so! Just come on over, stop by. The more melody-minglers, the merrier.

making the sounds
...the first name of the group was The Wood. That's important. The Hostel is some kind of union of people, animals, trees and different objects. The group also shares a post-rock concept of depersonalising of music so pesonalised in rock-n-roll times, so that on the box of the first album of The Hostel there aren't any names of musicians.

The Hostel follows the idea of 60's psychodelic music, NY downtown avantguard music, industrial music and different ethnic traditions. Texts are written in a visionary and surrealistic style. Sometimes they look like an ancient poem, sometimes like a symbolistic poetry.

Well, The Hostel is surely a peace of postmodernity.

However, as a russian group (The Hostel lives in Moscow), The Hostel consider the disunity, the fragmentation of everything in the art and in the world at all as a big tradegy and perfoms some kind of a rush to the Whole, to the integrity, to the deepest roots of being. You see that philosophy is their cup of tea..
